Track Premiere: Favorit "Truth Comes Out"

I am so excited to be premiering the track Truth Comes Out by Los Angeles’ R&B/pop duo Favorit. The band consists of primarily Zed (she/her) & Ace (he/him) who write the songs together. Zed was born in New Mexico and grew up traveling all over the states, where she developed her exotic style and mysterious persona. She started by playing the piano and singing before she could walk. Ace is a California native, made of chaotic good energy, from a smaller town Chino Hills. He has been drumming since he was 16. They both met in 2019 and created the band Favorit. When Ace met Zed in 2019, he was tired of being slept on and found her beautiful voice and knew that the two of them create magic when together.
On their brand new single Truth Comes Out, the synth starts us off telling us we are about to go on this incredible journey. "Truth Comes Out is about finding the truth about a close friend and the true colors of someone and the betrayal of it,” says Ace. This song is definitely exciting as it is not necessarily something I hear every day on my Spotify Daily Mix Playlists, and I love this band for that! They will be releasing a music video for the single to support its release by the end of this year.

-How does your transgender identity reflect on your experiences in music whether it’s in your writing, at shows, or both?
Being trans gives me a very different view on the world and feels evident in my writing and how i navigate my identity in the music industry. I haven’t seen much representation in the industry and want to change that. I have lived a life that only few can understand, but I can relate to so many.
- Any advice for young queer/trans kids who create?
Ace: To start with creating for yourself and loving yourself. To find spaces that you feel comfortable being yourself. I have found that in Favorit and I'm so blessed.
- Dream Tour, If you could book Favorit on any support tour and open for 2 artists who would it be?
If we could open for 2 artist it would have to be Lorde and Billie Ellish
- What was the first album you bought for yourself?
Zed-: Gwen Stefani- Love. Angel. Music. Baby.
